How to Have Healthy Skin with Acupressure

Acupressure is a therapy that’s been around for more than 5,000 years in Asian countries, particularly China. It uses precise finger placement and pressure placed on specific points along the body that when activated are believed to improve blood flow, release tension and unblock life-energy, known as “qi” or “chi.” This helps to promote relaxation, healing and restores optimal functioning.

There’s a good chance that you’ve already seen, or at least heard of, the effects of acupressure. It’s known to reduce stress, pain and muscle tension when used on a daily basis. When used properly, the techniques can even help you to achieve more beautiful, healthier, glowing skin, effectively alleviating conditions that can cause acne, dry skin and wrinkles – in fact, it may be just a few fingertips away!

Try these simple techniques each day to restore the brilliance of your skin.

The Heavenly Pillar

This pressure point is located at the base of your skull, right where your spine is attached. One inch outward on either side of your spinal column are two pressure points that make up the heavenly pillar. Press and hold these points for at least two minutes a day to relieve stress on the skin, which helps reduce acne and promotes better overall health.

Heavenly Glow Point

This pressure point can be found just behind the jaw and a few inches below the earlobe. It’s known to increase the luster and overall glow of the skin. Press this point to improve the appearance of your skin and also to help balance the thyroid and prevent or relieve hives.

Blemish Free Point

This pressure point is located about one centimeter below the lower ridge of the eye socket, just under the iris and near the cheek bone, and is known to help reduce blemishes. Place your index fingers on this point holding a light pressure for one minute for acne-free skin.

Third Eye Point

This point can be found right between your eyebrows in the place where the bridge of the nose meets the center of the forehead, and is known to stimulate the pituitary gland. The pituitary gland is the main endocrine gland which helps to enhance the condition of the skin throughout the body. Place your index finger on this pressure point and massage the area by pressing slightly for at least one minute every day.

acupressureAdd these four techniques to your regular beauty routine to restore your youthful glow naturally – instead of turning to potentially harmful and expensive Botox or surgical treatments.
